Food Storage
On Friday I spent some time cleaning/organizing my food storage. I also did an inventory of what I have right now. I was a little surprised by what I found. I have over 400 lbs of white sugar!! But I don't have very much of anything else. So I have been galvanized into action. I am now going to develop my own food storage spread sheet with what my family uses. I looked online and found a book called "Cookin' with Home Storage". It is written by a couple of LDS women and is supposed to have over 500 recipes that use what is commonly stored in food storage. I am thinking of buying it but I really wanted to look at it first before I buy. The library has one copy and it is out and I am the third person in line to get it. I am excited about making a plan for my family. I generally buy plenty extra when things are on sale and I do have enough for probably a couple of months and longer if we were a little careful. But I have never planned for what my family needs to make it for a year. So I am going to start right now!

Just a funny!
Heidi was getting ready for a birthday party this morning. She wanted to wear her little skirt with black leggings underneath. She calls the leggings long johns. She went to find them and came out of her bedroom holding a pair of black shorts
"Mom my long johns shrunk, now they are short johns!"
She was totally serious. I laughed!

Birthdays
We have celebrated four birthdays in the last two months. First was Jessica's first birthday on Jan 24th. She loved all the attention.
Next came Mia and Allan's birthdays, Feb 3 &4. We always celebrate them together since they are only a day apart. I am so glad they don't mind. Mia turned 11 and is constantly reminding me that next year she will be 12 and in YW. This freaks me out just a little.
Allan turned 15 and I can't believe how much that kid can eat! It is truly amazing. We tease him all the time about having a hollow leg.
Since I don't have a digital camera and I still don't have the film back from Heidi's birthday no picture yet, but I will post when I get some back. Heidi turned 6 on Mar 7. She had a week of birthday fun. First a party with friends, then cupcakes at school and finally cake with the family. Of course she thinks she is due all the adoration. I can't believe how big she is getting.
One more birthday at the end of April and the kids will be done for another year. Then it will be time to start planning for Christmas!

So I sat down today to do my takes. Well actually I am just getting them started. I have all my numbers together for my sewing business. That is always a headache to gather together. If I was really good I would be more organized. Maybe I should use Microsoft money or something. I am discovering that the older I get the worse I am with money. I really thought it should work the other way around. Hmmm......
